Teton-iversary

Today was our 11th Anniversary, and it was fantastic (and, as you'll see, quite picturesque)

We started the day with more gift shop-shopping (the girls have this down and make a been line for the pile of stuffies in each place) and a walk around Colter Bay (the "village" and marina near our campground)

Before heading over to Jenny Lake. 

It had been few days, so it was time to hike again and we had heard nothing but good things about the "Hidden Falls" hike near here, so decided to check it out. (We also thought it funny that the hike we did in Auburn, CA on mother's day was also "hidden falls")

The hike starts with a boat ride across the lake. ("We're on a boat!")

And proceeds with an easy 1.2 mile r/t hike up into some VERY green forest, and beautiful mountains...

Before arriving at a huge, rushing, torrent of water (it was loud)

And finally the falls

And a little further up to "inspiration point"

Which overlooks the whole valley (Jackson Hole)

With the mountains at your back.

The point was aptly named.

A quick hike down, a boat ride back, and we we're done with another junior ranger badge.

Then for dinner, I surprised Lisa with a trip to "The Mural Room" at Jackson Lake Lodge.

They have a pretty good view (and a kids menu)

We had Elk and Bison (checked off list of things to eat...we may go back to the excellent beef, pork and fish now), and walked around on their patio after dinner to watch the beginning of the sunset (with doesn't actually come until 9:30pm)

Oh, and we found a West Virginia plate in the parking lot at dinner! 3 to go! But Rhode Island, Delaware and Hawaii might be the hardest ones out there. We'll see.

Anyway, there is so much more to do here, we're both excited to come back next weekend after Yellowstone and check out the stuff at the southern end and in Jackson, WY.

But for now, it's north again, just one (1) hour in the car this time (woo-hoo!), to our campground in Grant Village, then 5 nights there. In one spot. Which will be relaxing even if it is raining pretty well right now.
